The 33 academic and scientific research funds are not only made up of donations collected from doctors at the university hospital centre, but also philanthropic partners and members of the community—notably via the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation’s matching-fund scholarship program. All of these donors are driven by common values and a shared desire to invest now for future generations.

These endowment funds are invested in perpetuity: donations generate annual investment income, providing ongoing support to the education and knowledge advancement missions of an ever-growing number of Sainte-Justine departments and services.

Donations earmarked for fellowships support the development of the next generation of skilled medical professionals. Your contribution to these funds enables the best and brightest minds to complete their subspecialty training at prestigious institutions abroad. It also gives rising stars in pediatrics from around the world the opportunity to hone their skills at the bedside of Quebec patients and to share their expertise with teams here, all of which contributes to Sainte-Justine’s mission of excellence and enhances its international reputation.

Donations to scientific research funds directly support the vital work of researchers. In 2022–2023, the General Pediatric Surgery Department set up a pioneering fund of this type with the intent of fostering innovation to fundamentally transform every child’s life.

Thank you for contributing to these truly inspiring programs, and for joining us to increase Sainte-Justine’s impact on the health of young people, and on society as a whole.
