  • The Foundation’s policy is to systematically issue tax receipts for donations of $20 or more made in person, by phone or by mail. For donations under $20 that were made in person, by phone or by mail, a tax receipt can be issued upon request. You can, however, earmark your donation for one of Sainte-Justine’s three overarching missions — research, care and teaching — or for a specific unit, department or initiative, as long as your gift is $500 or more and aligned with Sainte-Justine’s requirements.

Note that 15% of every restricted donation will be allocated as follows:

    • 5% to fund innovative high-priority projects identified jointly by CHU Sainte-Justine and the Research Centre and approved by the Foundation, pursuant to the established rules of governance.
    • 10% to increase the Foundation’s capacity to raise and grant funds according to Sainte-Justine’s priorities and covering certain administrative costs as well as fees incurred to ensure donations are managed safely and securely, track donations to various projects, collect information, and draft and follow up on impact reports.

In the event new circumstances arise and we have reasonable grounds to believe that a donation cannot be used for its stated purpose, we may opt to reallocate the corresponding funds (where feasible, in consultation with the donor). Every effort will be made to stay as close as possible to the donor’s original intention.
