If you made a donation online, your tax receipt is attached to the donation confirmation email you will automatically receive.
If you chose a monthly donation option, a single tax receipt for the total annual amount of your donations will be sent to you in February, by mail or by email if you have an email address. You may receive your tax receipt in your junk mail box. If you did not receive it, please contact us by phone at 514 345-4710 (toll free: 1 888 235-3667), or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For other types of donations (cash and cheque), if you choose to receive your receipt by email, we will make sure to send you your tax receipt within four weeks of receiving your donation. If you opt to receive your receipt by mail, it will be sent to you at the beginning of next year.
The Foundation’s policy is to systematically issue tax receipts for donations of $20 or more made in person, by phone or by mail. For donations under $20 that were made in person, by phone or by mail, a tax receipt can be issued upon request. For gifts received via one of our digital platforms, a receipt will be emailed to you if you have filled out the tax receipt form.
Depending on your situation, you may be eligible to claim up to 50% of your contribution as a charitable tax credit. This credit is a non-refundable tax credit.

You can now raise funds for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation right on Facebook. This is a quick, simple way to reach out to your online friends. And, yes, 100% of donations go directly to the Foundation.
There are a few things you should know before getting started. Visit our website to learn more.
We encourage and prefer unrestricted donations, which make it easier for us to address Sainte-Justine’s urgent and priority needs and seize opportunities to innovate in care and research.
You can, however, earmark your donation for one of Sainte-Justine’s three overarching missions — research, care and teaching — or for a specific unit, department or initiative, as long as your gift is $500 or more and aligned with Sainte-Justine’s requirements.
Note that 15% of every restricted donation will be allocated as follows:
- 5% to fund innovative high-priority projects identified jointly by CHU Sainte-Justine and the Research Centre and approved by the Foundation, pursuant to the established rules of governance.
- 10% to increase the Foundation’s capacity to raise and grant funds according to Sainte-Justine’s priorities and covering certain administrative costs as well as fees incurred to ensure donations are managed safely and securely, track donations to various projects, collect information, and draft and follow up on impact reports.
In the event new circumstances arise and we have reasonable grounds to believe that a donation cannot be used for its stated purpose, we may opt to reallocate the corresponding funds (where feasible, in consultation with the donor). Every effort will be made to stay as close as possible to the donor’s original intention.
Ethics and integrity are values that are very important to the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. Every year, we publish our financial statements along with a report on our activities and an overview of how your donation dollars are spent.

Fuelled by your generosity, the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation’s Mélio Fund strives to improve the independence and quality of life of the 5,000 young patients treated every year by the CHU Sainte-Justine’s Marie Enfant Rehabilitation Centre (CRME) for a locomotor or speech impairment.
When you choose to support the Fonds Mélio, you give children, families and the CRME teams access to a world of possibilities:
- You are supporting innovative research projects;
- You are doing your part to improve and humanize care;
- You are making it possible for children to receive care in a stimulating environment adapted to their needs.
