How do Facebook fundraisers work? Does the Foundation receive 100% of donations?
You can now raise funds for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation right on Facebook. This is a quick, simple way to reach out to your online friends. And, yes, 100% of donations go directly to the Foundation.
There are a few things you should know before getting started. Visit our website to learn more.
Who should I contact if I move or change addresses?
Can I donate to a particular unit, department or initiative at CHU Sainte-Justine?
We encourage and prefer unrestricted donations, which make it easier for us to address Sainte-Justine’s urgent and priority needs and seize opportunities to innovate in care and research.
You can, however, earmark your donation for one of Sainte-Justine’s three overarching missions — research, care and teaching — or for a specific unit, department or initiative, as long as your gift is $500 or more and aligned with Sainte-Justine’s requirements.
Note that 15% of every restricted donation will be allocated as follows:
- 5% to fund innovative high-priority projects identified jointly by CHU Sainte-Justine and the Research Centre and approved by the Foundation, pursuant to the established rules of governance.
- 10% to increase the Foundation’s capacity to raise and grant funds according to Sainte-Justine’s priorities and covering certain administrative costs as well as fees incurred to ensure donations are managed safely and securely, track donations to various projects, collect information, and draft and follow up on impact reports.
In the event new circumstances arise and we have reasonable grounds to believe that a donation cannot be used for its stated purpose, we may opt to reallocate the corresponding funds (where feasible, in consultation with the donor). Every effort will be made to stay as close as possible to the donor’s original intention.
What is the Foundation’s administrative costs ratio?
Ethics and integrity are values that are very important to the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. Every year, we publish our financial statements along with a report on our activities and an overview of how your donation dollars are spent.
