Frédéric Martel takes on the role of Chair of the Board at a pivotal moment in the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation’s history.
The CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation’s Board of Directors has a new Chair: Frédéric Martel, President and CEO of Claridge Inc. A Board member since 2018, he succeeds Pierre Pomerleau, whose leadership has guided the Foundation with conviction.
With over two decades of experience in capital markets and portfolio management, Mr. Martel brings a sharp strategic outlook to the Board at a pivotal moment for the Foundation: the third year of our Grow Beyond campaign, an ambitious effort to raise $500 million by 2028 to transform the future of maternal and child health in Quebec.
To me, growing beyond expectations means hoping that one day, all children can grow up healthy. We’ve made remarkable progress in recent years, especially in precision health and artificial intelligence. Today, Sainte-Justine stands out as one of the leading mother and child hospitals in North America. As long as illness exists, we have a duty to keep going. It’s an honour to take on this role at such a crucial time.
Frédéric Martel’s appointment reflects a strong sense of continuity in the Foundation’s philanthropic governance, and signals a clear intention to rally Quebec’s business and donor communities around the cause of advancing pediatric health.
